Refund on losses

Hey,

I used to use a lot of online casinos when I was younger including 32red. I got in such a bad state of gambling I would get paid and within a matter of hours my money would be gone. Looking back on it I can believe they allowed me to gamble so much money. I ended up self excluding and eventually managed to get my self under control several years later.

After all this time would it be possible to get a refund on my losses?

Many thanks

I don't think a refund would be possible in this scenario. You would be entitled to a refund if the casino failed to close your account after you tried to self exclude and if they allowed you to still gamble after you self excluded, and the only money that would be refundable is the funds lost after the self exclusion failed. Sadly in this scenario that money is fully gone, all you can do is never gamble again to not lose more money, stay safe

If I was somehow able to prove they didn't look out for me due to the consistent deposits in a short time span would I have a leg to stand on?

Not sure, british operators are forced to make sure their users are not problem gamblers and nowadays they have some really invasive policies like looking further into your personal finances through bank statements (besides the usual KYC), I doubt you played under these conditions now enforced by regulators, even then it would be impossible to claim a refund I think.

I always see complaints like "casino didn't respect self exclusion" but never "casino failed to identify a problem gambler", the first one is definitely their responsibility, second one not so much to be honest, if the casino respected your self exclusion there is nothing to do I fear 😬

Hi, was your problem only with 32red Casino or were there other casinos involved ?

As for your question, like SunsetGaze, I would say that this is most likely not possible. Because that way a lot of players could then come and say they had a problem and after a few years they got it under control and they want their money back after a few years.

However, the only positive and most important thing is that you got out of it and learned from it. I'm sorry that you probably won't see that money again, but it's certainly a satisfaction because you won't lose any more. I hope that you will continue to manage to keep from playing and that everything will be good in the future. Good luck. ☘️
