Hi team,

Showing my problem on your website I would like to know your opinion. I live in Spain and I am self-excluded from gambling. One bad day I found the casino licensed in Seychelles ybets.net. I lost a lot of money. +30,000$. I deposited with cryptos but also with a credit card. I withdrew only $5,000. I don't remember if they asked me for KYC. But the casino knows that I am Spanish and that I cannot play on their site since they are not licensed in my country. They also added me to WhatsApp to offer me VIP conditions. My phone number is obviously Spanish.

Do you think I have any chance of recovering the $30,000 if I report them for letting me play when it is illegal to offer their services in my country? I have read some success stories. But not in Seychelles.

ps: I am an idiot. I know. Thank you for reading.

Hi there.

As i can see, the Ybets Casino operates under the Phillipines license and accepts players from Spain.

Unfortunately, as there is no official site for self-exclusion worldwide, we often witness this kind of situation, and it is really sad to see.

So I am really sorry that you have to go through this.

Please try to file a complaint here with our team, and they will gladly look into it deeper and see if there is anything we could do.

Also for you to know, as part of our Global Self-Exclusion Initiative, we've partnered with BetBlocker, a UK-registered charity providing a free service to support people worldwide. You can find more information about our initiative here (https://casino.guru/global-self-exclusion-initiative) and about BetBlocker here (https://betblocker.org/).

BetBlocker, which supports seven languages, is quick and easy to install on multiple devices, taking just 2 minutes. Once installed, it blocks access to over 84,230 gambling websites and runs quietly in the background. The service can be used anonymously and helps individuals manage their access to gambling safely and appropriately, whether that means complete restriction or limiting access during vulnerable periods.

Additionally, BetBlocker includes a list of 824 gambling information sites. These sites primarily inform users about and advertise gambling services. You can choose to include these sites in your restriction by ticking a box. However, if you have an ongoing complaint against a gambling operator, do not check this box, as it will prevent you from accessing the Casino.Guru website as well.

It seems that the team cannot help me in this case. Do you know any lawyer or better way to proceed to claim this?

thanks

Honestly? No.

We focus on maintaining a fair environment.

As far I understand, you think you should be refunded bacuse you willingly registered in casino outside the Spanish license. Frankly, unless the casino used this fact against you, allowing you to wager money, you won't be ever able to withdraw due to your country restriction; I see no reason for the refund.

Believe me, I know how it sounds, but from your perspective, the casino did nothing wrong as far as I can assume based on your previous posts. They treated you like any other player despite the country you come from, didn't they?

I suggest you consult the internet to find a lawyer skilled in refunding disputes. I'm sorry this is not our line of work.

The casino wants my money. It is their right. But I, as a problem gambler and self-excluded in my country. I also have the right to want my lost money back. A foreign casino cannot operate or accept players from my country if it is not licensed in my country. Imagine that cocacola is banned in your country. But you find a store that sends it to you. And you are addicted to cocacola. Then you have a problem. And the store too for not respecting the laws. I am an addict trying to get back 30k that I should have never gambled. Just that. Thanks for the support.

I understand that pretty well; this is the neverending question of legality - many players claim the same. I just wanted you to understand that from where we stand, law is not our instrument, since we are not gambling lawers. Instead, we specialize in fairness.

As I previously stated, there is not much we can do for you if the casino did not treat you unfairly because you registered from Spain. I understand that you feel entitled; it's that we see the same situation from a different angle. I truly hope you find someone who will assist you in your situation. Don't hesitate to submit the complaint; you'll learn more about how we consider this situation.

Good luck to you, and don't forget the BetBlocker, please; it might help prevent similar problems.
